About Me

Welcome to Jambo Expressions. I’m Yolanda, a New Jersey crafter with a background in media, public relations, and journalism. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about helping others find and share their voice, especially within community and healthcare spaces. That same instinct to listen, uplift, and tell meaningful stories naturally found its way into my creative work.

My love for paper began early, sparked by the simple but lasting magic of receiving a letter. I held onto those notes for years. They became small, tangible reminders of connection, care, and memory. That feeling never left me.

Through Jambo Expressions, named after the Swahili word for “hello,” I create handcrafted cards that invite us to slow down and truly see one another. Each piece is an offering of presence, love, and intention.

As a mother, I’ve passed down the value of handwritten notes to my sons, teaching them that even the smallest message can carry deep meaning. With every card, my hope is to help others create and hold onto those same beautiful moments.

Join me in celebrating connection, intention, and the beauty of being seen.
Send a note. Share a moment. Let someone know they matter.
